Big Bang Competition

Our local Chatsmore High School has won a national science competition. Chatsmore team came first in the intermediate Engineering category, in the Big Bang Competition! The school is SO thrilled. This is the first time the school has ever won a national competition and here is a video of the Headteacher sharing the news.

Here is a radio interview on BBC Radio Sussex about the project.

New School name and Logo

From September 2020, Chatsmore High School will be know as Saint Oscar Romero Catholic School. The change has been planned fsince September with input from all the school community.

“We have been working continuously with a focus group of students, alongside our incredible IT Manager and Graphics Designer, Mr Fairbairn, to finalise the new school logo and agree on final change to school uniform. The final design (seen here) incorporates the O for Oscar, the cross in the middle, and the R for Romero. Red is the colour of Martyrs, the Saints who have given their life for the faith. We have retained our ‘Learning in Faith’ mottto but is now written in Latin.”
