AN ECUMENICAL LENT COURSE

will take place in Goring Primary School, Palmerston Avenue on Wednesday evenings during Lent, starting next Wednesday at 7.30 pm led by Philip Athyal, Baptist Minister. All are welcome. TESCO BLUE TOKENS:

The Friends of English Martyrs Primary School now has one of the three clear boxes by the exit of the Tesco Stores in Durrington and Worthing until 28th February 2018. The boxes are to collect the blue tokens given out at the end of your shop. Tokens represent votes. The group with the most votes gets up to £4,000, second is £2,000 and even third a very respectable £1,000. Please support our local Catholic School when you shop at Tesco. Thank you.

ENGLISH MARTYRS CATHOLIC PRIMARY SCHOOL

is looking to recruit a practising Catholic to join our Governing Body as a Foundation Governor. The term of office for a Foundation Governor is 4 years. The Governing Body work as a team in co-operation with the Headteacher to ensure legal responsibilities are met and to preserve the catholic character of the school. We are looking for someone with experience in one of the following areas – Finance, ICT, HR, Education or with links to local businesses. Lack of experience should not deter you from expressing an interest if you have a genuine desire to serve the school by devoting your time & expertise. LEARNING ABOUT THE CATHOLIC FAITH:

We will soon be starting this year’s course (RCIA) for those interested in finding out more about our faith with a view to being received into full communion with the Catholic Church. If you know of anyone who would like to join us, please ask them to ring Father Liam on 01903 242624 for details. This course would also be suitable for those wanting to return to the practise of their Catholic faith.

‘OLD’ £1.00 COINS:

From 15th October shops are allowed to refuse to accept the ‘old’ £1.00 coins. However, if you would like to part with your old coins you could add them to the weekly collection!

ALPHA – AN ENCOUNTER WITH JESUS:

Come to St Michael’s parish hall, Hayling Rise, Worthing BN13 3AL for an Alpha Introductory Evening on Wednesday 27 September to find out more. The Alpha course continues then every Monday from 2 October. The evening begins with a meal from 7pm with a delicious buffet. CHRISTIAN MEDITATION AT POOR CLARE’S CONVENT, Crossbush

USED POSTAGE STAMPS FOR THE MISSIONS

As the Christmas Cards start arriving please remember to rescue all those beautiful stamps, leaving about half an inch of envelope around the edges, and put them in the box in the Porch so that they can be used to raise money for the Missions.
