OUR CHURCH CLEANERS ARE WEARING OUT DUE TO OVERWORK!

We have four teams of volunteers who come for a maximum of one hour every four weeks on a Friday morning at 10.00 am. to sweep, vacuum and polish the church. Sadly some have had to give up for a variety of reasons and so our ‘teams’ are depleted thus making the task more difficult than it needs to be. If you could give just one hour a month of your time to this vital task – no-one wants a dirty church – please contact Anne in the office – 01903 242624 – or just turn up.

APPRECIATING THE BEAUTY OF THE MASS!

Have you ever wondered “Why do I have to go to Mass?” “Why is it relevant to my life today” If so this course is for you. Over six weeks in The Barn starting on Friday 7th July at 7pm in an informal setting, we will explore the whys behind the whats of the Mass. The course is not about filling our heads with lots of knowledge but about exploring the wonderful gift that is called The Mass. Week six will be a Q & A session about our faith. Phone Dermot or Jane Anne on 01903 502070, dermot36@gmail.com

BISHOP RICHARD LAUNCHES FLOOD RELIEF APPEAL FOR PERU:

As a result of severe flooding that hit Peru in March affecting both countryside and cities including areas in our twin Diocese of Chulucanas, where priests from Arundel & Brighton have served over the years, Bishop Richard has launched an appeal for flood relief in the parishes of our Diocese. Bishop Dan in Chulucanas, has made known the plight of many of his people affected by this natural disaster. The homes and livelihoods of many in the Diocese have been hard hit. Bishop Richard Moth has asked parishes in the Diocese to take a special collection which will be held next weekend.  Bishop Richard offers his thanks, in advance, for your response to this need.  He also asked that you remember in prayer Bishop Dan, all the people and priests of his Diocese including Fr Hugh Dutton from our own Diocese serving in Chulucanas. You can donate via a special donation site direct to the Diocese online or give via a second collection held in your parish for which you can use Diocesan second collection gift-aid envelopes.

YOUR VOICE MATTERS – Mega Youth Poll:

In 2018, Pope Francis will invite Bishops and others to Rome to talk about Youth, Faith and Vocational Discernment. At this gathering they will discuss how the Catholic Church can accompany young people in their faith and help them to hear God’s call. If you are aged between 13-29 years old, the Catholic Church in England and Wales would like to hear from you, we want to hear what life is like, your thoughts on faith and how you connect with the Catholic Church. To help you tell us we have created a Youth Poll that you can access using this link .  If you’re not in this age group but would like to help, please encourage the young people you know to respond to this poll by giving them the link. For queries about the Youth Poll please email: synod2018@cbcew.org.uk .

MOTHERS PRAYERS

Following Carolyn’s recent talk at all Masses, if you haven’t already registered your interest and would like to be part of a Mothers Prayers group please contact Mary on 07889 065356 for more information on how to become involved. Mothers Prayers is a worldwide initiative where small groups of mothers (2 to 8) meet every week to pray for their children & grandchildren.  Members obey the strict rule of confidentiality.  During the meetings a mother may share her worries without the fear of anything being repeated outside of the meeting. The other mothers support her in her prayer and she will feel supported by thousands of mothers around the world who are also part of Mothers Prayers.  All material is provided.
